DANA PIAZZA
-
Dana Piazza is a visual artist who creates abstract drawings and paintings on paper, panel, and canvas. Piazza’s practice emphasizes and expands upon a single origin mark coupled with a set of self-imposed rules that are the scaffolding for an extraordinarily comprehensive and varied body of work. The meticulous forms that Piazza assembles on his flat surfaces depict the illusion of depth and movement; they seem voluminous, carrying significant visual weight. His systemic inclinations toward non-representational abstraction focus on form, color, the tools of creation, and the artist’s hand.
