Meet Lisa Rowe-Bates and Juli Japhet, the founders of Japhet Bates Collective. Japhet Bates Collective is an art consultancy and art platform with a focus on bringing emerging and mid-career artists to the Texas art market.
With a strong aesthetic sense and business acumen acquired running their individual design businesses in Houston and Brenham, long time friends Lisa and Juli joined forces to fill the gap they noticed in the local art market. While working for over two decades in the interior design industry, Lisa and Juli each observed many of their sophisticated and highly educated clients were intimidated by art and the traditional ways it is exhibited and acquired.
Ever eager to make life more enjoyable and more beautiful, Japhet Bates Collective emerged from their vision to offer a new platform where art collecting is more friendly, fun, and approachable… While simultaneously introducing artists who otherwise may not be known to the local art market.
With a rotating roster of artists who are actively working to create collections in their respective studios, Japhet Bates Collective will debut each featured artist in their showroom followed by unique services to make the acquisition of art less intimidating. Juli and Lisa view their role within Japhet Bates Collective not as gallerists with traditional artist agreements, but more as partners to the collectors and promoters for the artists.
